Mrs. Usha Giri, went to Japan in a young age to pursue her higher education in Kyoto University and was a diligent student who was able to secure a place for scholarship in the same. After finishing her studies, she was involved in restaurant chains in Japan. She was successful in her endeavor. After living in Japan for more than 22 years, Usha Giri experienced a huge gap in agricultural practices in Japan and Nepal. Coming from a country, when agriculture is still considered the main occupation major parts of imports were done on agricultural products. In addition, she also recognized the fact that Nepal was importing large amounts of chemical fertilizers, and composts from abroad, which still is insufficient for the harvest.
She also noticed that the use of chemical fertilizers worldwide, was having a huge impact on the health of people and their surroundings. After seeing close family members being affected with chronic disease like cancer, it gave her a lift to do something about it. Then she met an expert in Japan, Mr. Rikio Hasimoto the founder of CNBM (carbon, nitrogen, bacteria and minerals) technology who had years of experience in the same field of organic compost using locally procured resources. Both of them had the same philosophy of eradicating the use of chemical fertilizers and making a better world to live in.
